Resident Evil Requiem is among the best-looking survival horror games of the current console generation, but if you are on PC and have the performance headroom to spare, you can push the game's visuals to a level past what CAPCOM intended with the Graphics Enhancement mod now available for free on Nexus Mods.

"Resident Evil Requiem ships with a maximum in-game RT setting of High. This mod breaks that ceiling — pushing raster quality further, improving RT visuals across the board, and squeezing out a little extra quality from path tracing as well. Everything is tuned from a clean in-game menu under the REFramework Script UI," reads the official mod description by JoHien, its developer.

The Graphics Enhancement mod grants the user granular control over many visual features, including Image Post Processing, SSS Diffusion, Film Grain, Texture Quality, Shadows Presets, Contact Shadows, Screen Space Reflections, Ambient Occlusion, and more.

The most interesting options featured by this Resident Evil Requiem mod, however, are the ray tracing and path tracing options.

With further options to tweak ray tracing and path tracing shading, GI Diffuse, and more, it is possible to achieve impressive results, as showcased in the screenshots below provided by the mod's developer.

While modders continue to improve Resident Evil Requiem, CAPCOM hasn't been idle either. Last week, the promised minigame mode - LEON MUST DIE FOREVER - was added with a free update ahead of the DLC expansion that is launching on an as-yet-unconfirmed date. Little is known about this expansion, but looking at the wealth of cut content, it wouldn't be surprising for some of these mechanics to be implemented in it.
