CAPCOM announced the release date of Rashid, the first DLC character coming to Street Fighter 6. Rashid 'of the Turbulent Wind' will be available across all three modes featured in the game. In World Tour, players will get the opportunity to discover his backstory, bond with him as a fighting master, and learn his moves for their custom avatar.

On the fighting ground, players can expect the following signature moves from Rashid:

  • Arabian Cyclone: A new special move that performs a spinning kick and conjures up a whirlwind; can be used as a standalone blow, or transitioned into Rolling Assault or Wing Stroke
  • Arabian Skyhigh: A new double jump move that keeps opponents guessing on where Rashid will land from the air
  • Super Rashid Kick: Level 1 Super Art that unloads a devastating kick while soaring forward and up through the air
  • Ysaar: Previously Rashid’s V-Trigger move in Street Fighter V, this Level 2 Super Art summons a slow-moving whirlwind projectile that can be used to pressure opponents
  • Altair: Rashid’s Level 3 Super Art calls forth a tempest that lifts opponents before he rains down on them with a monsoon of powerful blows

This month's in-game Fighting Pass is also dedicated to him. Players can get Rashid-related gear, emotes, and more through the pass. They can also obtain a Rental Fighter ticket via the pass, allowing them to try out the new Street Fighter 6 character for an hour.

Rashid will be automatically unlocked for owners of the Deluxe Edition, Ultimate Edition, or Year 1 Character Pass.

He is the first out of four characters to come to Street Fighter 6 in the first year of the game's launch. The other three are A.K.I., Ed, and Akuma.

Street Fighter 6 enjoyed great success at launch. It earned a perfect score from our reviewer Francesco De Meo:

Back when I tried Street Fighter 6 for the first time during last year's first beta, I had the feeling I had played something special, and the final version of the game only confirmed these feelings. With its excellent play modes, attention to accessibility, almost flawless online experience, and incredible game and character design, Street Fighter 6 is not only one of the best entries in the series but one of the best fighting games ever made, a game that is more than worthy of a perfect score.

On June 5th, CAPCOM revealed the game had already sold over a million copies. That said, the publisher's ultimate goal is to break the 10-million milestone, a lofty feat that may take many years to accomplish.
