The Radeon RX 9060 XT might not be as powerful as we expect, but thankfully, the scores are better than the previous leak.
Reddit User Overclocks RX 9060 XT to 3.46 GHz, Acheiving 17,069 Points in Time Spy; Also Tested the GPU in Black Myth: Wukong
The AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT might not outperform the Radeon RX 7700 XT, but it appears to be in the same league as the latter. It's unfortunate that the RX 9060 XT can't beat the previous-gen RX 7700 XT GPU, but one should keep in mind that the RX 9060 XT offers a much better value for its price tag of $349 (assuming you can buy one at this price).
Nonetheless, the Radeon RX 9060 XT was once again benchmarked ahead of retail launch. The first one was a couple of days ago, but it was rather a lackluster platform to compare GPUs. This one is the 3D Mark Time Spy benchmark, which is a much more reliable platform for comparing the raw performance of GPUs. The Reddit user u/uesato_hinata was able to get his hands on the XFX Swift RX 9060 XT 16 GB card before retail launch and provided us with some early benchmarks.
Of course, the GPU has no official drivers at the time of writing. So, the user tested the GPU on the beta 25.6.1 drivers. Keep in mind that the final results may change, but as of now, the RX 9060 XT looks on par with the RX 7700 XT in Time Spy, scoring 16,333 points at default clocks. As per the user, the memory on the RX 9060 XT is apparently unoverclockable, but he was able to boost 200 MHz on the core clock with -40mV underolt and +10% powerlimit to achieve a good 3.46 GHz.
This helped him reach 17,069 points in Time Spy graphics, which is slightly lower than what you would get with an RX 7700 XT. This indicates that the RX 9060 XT might come out equivalent to the Radeon RX 7700 XT in gaming performance as well, but keep in mind that the results will vary from game to game. The RX 7700 XT has 12 GB of VRAM while the RX 9060 XT edges it out with 4 GB higher VRAM, which should be beneficial at 1440p resolution.
The user also showed us some early benchmarks in Black Myth: Wukong, where the RX 9060 XT was able to deliver 60+ FPS at 1080p on high settings and about 35 FPS on Cinematic Presets with RT off. The GPU was paired with the Ryzen 5 5600 and, of course, the scores will improve in the game when paired with something like a Ryzen 7 9800X3D or 7800X3D.
