Earlier this year, Sony promised they would launch PS5 cloud streaming for PlayStation Plus Premium members sometime this year, and now they’ve revealed the new feature will be arriving this month. Streaming games to PS4 or PC won’t be supported yet, so some may question the utility, but it will allow you to keep SDD space clear while testing out PS Plus titles. The streaming tech also sounds fairly advanced, allowing you to play at up to 4K and 60fps with HDR. Here’s a rundown of key features

Sony has not provided a full list of supported games, although they do promise that PS Plus catalog titles and a selection of games players own will be available for streaming. A short list of games provided by Sony include Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Horizon Forbidden West, Ghost of Tsushima, Mortal Kombat 11, Saints Row IV, Resident Evil 4, Dead Island 2, Genshin Impact, Fall Guys, and Fortnite. Demos for games like Hogwarts Legacy, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, and The Calisto Protocol will also be supported.

Speaking of PS Plus, Sony has also released the list of games coming to Extra and Premium tiers in October. The couple of games that were leaked ahead of time were correct once again, but the full list is quite a bit longer. Check it out, below.

Sony now offers three tiers of PS Plus – Essential, Extra, and Premium. The price for all three tiers have gone up for those subscribing for a year, but the monthly cost hasn’t changed. You can explore the games available via each tier and sign up here.

PS5 cloud streaming launches on October 17 in Japan, October 23 in Europe, and October 30 in North America. The new slate of PS Plus titles arrive on October 17. What do you think? Do you see yourself using the new cloud streaming option? Or are you waiting to see if it will come to PC and/or PS4?
