Holidays are always good for console manufacturers, and it seems like Sony has a lot to be happy about, as their PlayStation 4 console managed to sell quite a bit during the now over 2016 Holiday Season.
The Japanese company has recently confirmed that the PlayStation 4 console sold over 6.2 million units during the Holiday season, bringing global sales up to 53.4 million units worldwide.
Software sales have also gone great, with over 50 million units sold at retail and on the PlayStation Store. Among the games that have sold the best is the acclaimed Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, which sold 8.7 million units at retail and digitally as of January 1st, another impressive result.
Sony Interactive Entertainment President and Global CEO Andrew House commented on the excellent sales, thanking customers for their support and outlining some plans for the immediate future
