It has been less than a week since Google launched the Pixel 9 series at the Made by Google event in 2024 and focused on some significant upgrades and changes this time around. The tech giant pivoted in a different direction, not just with an early launch for the lineup but also rolled out four models instead of their usual three. While the star of the show remained the smartphone series, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold managed to harness the most attention for the massive improvements brought forth from the original model, and it has been quite the hit already, with the model being fully out of stock merely few days after the release.

Pixel 9 Pro Fold a major hit as it is already out of stock days after launch

While the first-generation Pixel Fold marked Google's presence in the foldable smartphone industry, the model had some issues that needed to be addressed before its mass roll-out last year. Users were happy to know that the new Pixel 9 Pro Fold incorporated all the necessary upgrades from the original model and introduced some new aspects that might lead to the phone being labeled as the best foldable for the year. The significant changes brought up were well received and could be seen in the pre-order sales for the Pixel 9 Pro Fold.

It has been four days since the Pixel 9 Pro Fold was released, and it has left the tech community baffled by being a huge hit and is already fully out of stock at the Google's online stores. Some retailers might have some stock available, but from what we are seeing, that might also quickly run out.

Users' excitement about the improved hardware and better design can be sensed in the model's sales, especially the Porcelain Pixel 9 Pro Fold, which was all out just a day after Google officially launched it at the big event. Meanwhile, the other color variant, Obsidian, is also unavailable for pre-order. The 256GB variant shows as in stock, but when you try to place the order, you get an option to "Get Notified" when it is restocked, and we assume that must be because the model is also out of stock.

If users opt for thirty-party retailers to get their hands on the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, they would not have any luck at Best Buy because both the 256GB and 512GB variants are listed as coming soon. You might be able to get the Obsidian model and the 256GB variant on Amazon, as the foldable is shown as available and shipping on September 4th. So, if you are also excited to buy the thinnest foldable smartphone yet, you can try your chance at the Amazon listing, as there is no timeline available on when the Pixel 9 Pro Fold's pre-orders will be available again on the Google store.
