While 60% of the world is covered, it appears that we are moving forward. China Mobile has announced the commercial launch of 5G-Advanced, also known as 5.5G or 5GA, and guess what? The Oppo Find X7 series is the first one in the industry to have support for this improved network standard.
5.5G is claimed to be 300% faster than 5G, and the Oppo Find X7 series is the first to support it
Pete Lau, Chief Product Officer, posted an image showing the 5GA in the status bar. The phone in question is the Find X7 Ultra, and I am really excited that the company has managed to become the first to have this support.

Now, the interesting part is that another post suggests that both the Find X7 Ultra and the standard variant will be getting support for 5.5G. This is interesting because these phones share a different chipset. The vanilla variant runs the equally capable MediaTek Dimensity 9300, and the Ultra variant runs on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. However, it appears that Oppo is making sure that both of these devices support the new standard.
Oppo is not alone in this, however. It is also said that the number is said to exceed 20 compatible devices in a year. China Mobile is looking forward to rolling out the new 5.5G network to cover 300 cities by the end of this year, and the first 100 cities will include areas such as Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou.
Although 5.5G might seem like a smaller upgrade, it is said to be 300% faster and can hit speeds of up to 10Gbps downloads and 1Gbps uploads. China Mobile has gone ahead with the demonstration areas around the country, so if you are in China and you have an Oppo Find X7 device, you can go ahead and enjoy the latest network.
