Oppo users can rejoice as the company has not only announced the ColorOS 14 version, but is also rolling it out to supported devices. The global beta version of the OS is going to arrive on the Oppo Find N2 Flip first, but the company has shared the timeline for several devices.
Oppo's latest ColorOS 14 looks to improve the user experience drastically
The new ColorOS 14 is obviously based on Android 14 and brings the new Trinity Engine. ROM Vitalization compresses app and file data and allows users to save up to 20 gigs of storage. There is also RAM Vitalization that swaps Android's RAM mechanism and replaces it with something that is better at keeping the background apps still in RAM, which should improve the apps' time to launch. You also get CPU Vitalization, which balances the CPU's performance and power usage so you can have a better experience.
The latest ColorOS 14 update also adds a Smart Charging system that takes advantage of an AI algorithm and sets the charging based on whether you are using the phone while it is on charge - this will help mitigate the wear and tear on your phone's battery.
We also get Picture Keeper with ColorOS 14, which is added to the list of privacy-oriented features. You will now have extra permission to access specific pictures and videos on your device. Smart Image Matting is now capable of cropping out multiple people and animals out of photos, making it easier to have more control.
Moving further, with ColorOS 14, you will also get the Smart Touch, which will let you select text, images, and video from native or third-party apps and then be able to put them on File Dock. The File Dock works like a clipboard that lets you put the content there for later use. The good news is that File Dock is synced across devices running ColorOS.
With ColorOS 14, you will also be able to put Snapchat shortcut on the lock screen. You also get a Snapchat widget on the Shelf, which will let you have at-a-glance updates on new messages, statuses, and your friends' locations.
Coming to the interface, the ColorOS 14 brings a number of polishes to the UI. There are several elements that are now standardized across the board. Oppo is calling this new design Aqua-Dynamic, which basically delivers a collection of common bubbles, capsules, panels, and more that can pop up from the status bar to display the relevant context. The plan here is to make the whole thing a lot cleaner.
The Aquamorphic Coloring system will paint the status bar and on-screen content, which is a fine addition to the customization.
Furthermore, ColorOS 14 also brings the Go Green style on the AOD, the rest of the customization is still available should you go for it.
As far as the release date is concerned, here is the release schedule for the Global Beta version of ColorOS 14. Again, this is still in the beta, and hopefully, Oppo won't take long before it releases the stable version.
