OnePlus 7T Day-One Update Brings Camera Improvements and More
Day one software patches shouldn't ideally be a thing, but they're becoming exceedingly commonplace with recent flagship released. Even the Galaxy S10 and Note 10 were at the receiving end of those when they dropped and today; the OnePlus 7T just got its, merely minutes after its announcement and release. The software build weighs in at a 110 MB which is a good indicator that it brings nothing in the way of new features and is just some last-minute cleaning by OnePlus. Here's the changelog, according to one user who managed to install it.
- Improve the system stability
- Improve the Camera effect
- Improve the screen display effect
- Optimize the screen sliding effect
- Optimize the sound effect when calling
- Fix some other known issues
The changelog is very generic and doesn't tell us much about what each change brings. The verbatim merely states that the build includes improved system stability, camera, and display performance. We're not entirely sure what the 'other issues' are, but launch-day devices are often imperfect and almost always have a few kinks that need to be ironed out.
Not a lot of people have their hands on the OnePlus 7T just yet, so we'll have to wait a while before we find out if the update does anything of significance. One report says that the phone performed more or less the same after installing the update, while another states that they saw measurably better performance out of the OnePlus 7Ts 90Hz screen.
The update should be waiting for you when you pick your shiny new OnePlus 7T up and should automatically install itself once you power the device up. OnePlus devices are notorious for not functioning up to capacity a few weeks after release, especially the cameras. It often takes OnePlus several weeks to fix some of the shortcomings, but hey, at least they listen.
