OnePlus 12 AnTuTu score, highest ever on a smartphone

OnePlus has been teasing the OnePlus 12 for as long as we can remember, and the phone is finally here. There is not much new to learn about the phone, considering how all the past leaks and rumors actually were correct, but if you are looking towards an upgrade to the latest and the greatest, this is a great start as the phone does bring a lot of improvements.

The OnePlus 12 might as well be the best OnePlus phone we have seen in a long, long time

Let's start with the essentials, shall we? The OnePlus 12 brings the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, which is an excellent choice. The phone is powered by a 5,400 mAh battery with 100W charging. The company has claimed that the battery should be able to hold 80% of its capacity after 1,600 charging cycles, which is more than enough. You are also getting 50W wireless charging, which is definitely a good addition since it was missing from its predecessor.

On the front of the phone, you are going to find a large 6.82-inch display with QHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. It is an LTPO panel. However, the company did not tell us the exact specs on that, but it would be safe to assume that it goes as low as 1Hz. The biggest draw here is the fact that the display is actually one of the brightest out of any smartphone in the market and goes as high as 4,500 nits of peak brightness.

The company also claims that the OnePlus 12's screen has "medical grade" eye protection features. The company also says that the phone's display has "melatonin protection," which will help protect melatonin levels and allow you to have better sleep when using your phone at night. We are not sure just how true this claim is, but it certainly looks impressive, and I look forward to learning more about it. The phone also has Rain Water Touch technology, so you can easily use your phone with your hands being wet.

OnePlus 12 also has all the other features, such as Bluetooth 5.4, an in-display fingerprint reader, an IR blaster, multi-directional NFC, USB 3.2 Gen 1, and more. The company has promised that there is a much more powerful vibration motor that is the most powerful in any smartphone in the market, so that is another thing you should keep in mind.

OnePlus 12 Appears in Hands-On Images, Design and Key Specs Confirmed

Now, coming to perhaps one of the most important aspects of the OnePlus 12, which happens to be the cameras. OnePlus has been going through some tough times with its camera system, but the new flagship aims to change that a lot. The main sensor is a 50-megapixel Sony LYT-808. You also get a 48-megapixel ultra-wide camera and a 64-megapixel 3x periscope camera. On the front, there is a 32-megapixel shooter. OnePlus has also thrown in a "multi-spectrum" color sensor, which should help with accurate color reproduction in pictures.

At the time of writing, the phone is only available in China and can be yours for 4,299 yuan (~$607) if you want the base model that brings 12/256GB configuration. If you are looking for the top-spec model, then that will cost you 5,799 yuan (~$818) for 24GB/1TB. The phone will launch next month in the international markets, and we will keep you posted when it does. Until then, stay tuned.
