The Xiaomi 14 series is all but official in the international markets, and we know for a fact that the Xiaomi 14 Ultra is going to be the star of the show. The phone will launch in China on 22nd February, followed by an international release on 25th February, later this month. As expected, Xiaomi is not shying away from talking about the phone, and today, the company has revealed some more details about the phone - mainly about the camera.
The Xiaomi 14 Ultra can take my money because I don't think a better smartphone camera setup exists in the market
Now, a little context here is that almost all the other smartphone companies are severely lagging when it comes to cameras. Samsung keeps dishing out the same camera system year after year. OnePlus has just started focusing on better cameras. Google relies heavily on AI to make the cameras better, and Oppo cannot sell the likes of Find X7 Ultra in international markets. This gives Xiaomi 14 Ultra a unique opportunity to bring the most powerful camera system in any smartphone to the international market.
Just a few days ahead of its official launch, the company has finally shed light on the camera system that will debut on the Xiaomi 14 Ultra. To be honest, it puts the Galaxy S24 Ultra to shame. The 14 Ultra is going to come with the 50-megapixel Sony LYT-900 1" sensor with a variable aperture that goes as wide as f/1.63. If you are a photographer who loves low-light shots, this is for you.
In addition to a powerful primary sensor, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra is also going to bring a 3.2x 50-megapixel camera, along with a 50-megapixel periscope camera. Both cameras are based on the same Sony IMX858 sensor, have wide apertures at f/1.8 and f/2.6, respectively, and promise to deliver robust pictures straight out of the camera. The periscope camera has a wider aperture than the one found on the Galaxy S24 Ultra, which maxes out at f/3.4. This means that you can expect much better low-light pictures coming out of the camera, especially when using the 5x range.
The entirety of the camera specs proves one thing - the Galaxy S24 Ultra is no longer the best camera phone in the market, at least not as far as raw camera prowess is concerned. The camera on the Xiaomi 14 Ultra is miles ahead of any phone that we have seen so far in the international market. If Xiaomi continues this trend and keeps on releasing its Ultra series phones globally, soon other smartphone companies will have to start worrying about it.
The Xiaomi 14 Ultra is going to debut on 22nd February in China, followed by an international release on 25th February. I am honestly really excited about the phone finally hitting the international market as I believe that this is the step in the right direction and could help Xiaomi make a name for itself on a much larger stage.
