NVIDIA has released notable updates to its software ecosystem, including a hotfix for its latest GeForce display drivers and a patch for the "NVIDIA App" issue.
NVIDIA Pushes Out A Bunch of Updates To Enhance User Experience, Mostly Addressing Performance Troubles
Team Green, maintaining its reputation for pushing out bug fixes quickly, has done it once again, and this post will give a roundup of the recent changes made by the firm. Starting with the driver hotfix, NVIDIA has apparently released a GeForce Hotfix Display Driver version 566.45, which is based upon the Game Ready driver but addressed specific issues, which aren't much to categorize the change as a separate driver update, which is why it is named as a "hotfix." Here's the changelog of the new hotfix driver:
This hotfix addresses the following issues:
- [Indiana Jones and the Great Circle] Some users may experience intermittent micro-stuttering [5015165]
- Improved stability for Ubisoft games using the Snowdrop engine [4914325]

We were hoping that the company would release an update for its "NVIDIA App" that would resolve the troublesome performance stuttering issues, but instead of releasing a patch, Team Green has now disabled the "Game Filter" option by default in version 11.0.1, which is seen as an intermediate fix for the problem. For those unaware, we recently reported on how NVIDIA App's overlay has resulted in performance drops of up to 15% for users out there, simply due to a setting incompatible with many titles.
While disabling the "Game Filter" option will work for now, we are hoping for NVIDIA to release an update, but it's likely that it won't arrive until next month, so for now, the best solution is to disable the setting for consumers facing the issue.
