NVIDIA has reportedly rescheduled the launch of its upcoming GeForce RTX 5050 GPU from the end of July to the 1st of July.
NVIDIA's Entry-Level GeForce RTX 5050 8 GB GPU Is Now Rescheduled For Launch on The 1st of July
The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050 8 GB GPU was originally planned for launch later next month, but it looks like things have changed. According to MEGAsizeGPU, the launch has been pushed forward to the 1st of July. The source states that this is an awkward decision by NVIDIA since no AIB will be able to ship the actual product on the launch date, so maybe we are looking at a paper launch with actual availability planned for mid or late July, as the original plans hinted.
NVIDIA suddenly informed all AIC that the desktop RTX 5050's launch date has been rescheduled to July 1st. The former launch date was the end of July. IDK why Nvidia made this award decision since no card can be shipped on July 1st.

As for what the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050 brings to the table, it will be positioned in the entry-level segment with a pricing around $199-$249 US, right below the $299 US GeForce RTX 5060. The card will be competing with the Intel Arc B580 12 GB and Arc B570 10 GB GPUs, which retail for $219 & $249 US, respectively.

In terms of specifications, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050 will feature the GB207 GPU, the smallest in the Blackwell gaming lineup. This chip will feature 2560 cores, which is the same as the RTX 3050, but with the new Blackwell core architecture. The GPU will be carried on the PG152-SKU50 PCB and will be accompanied by 8 GB of GDDR6 VRAM, running across a 128-bit bus interface. Recent reports have suggested that NVIDIA will be leveraging 20 Gbps modules for a total of 320 GB/s bandwidth.
RTX 5050 vs RTX 3050
- Blackwell Architecture vs Ampere Architecture
- Same 2560 CUDA Cores
- Faster RT & AI Cores
- Same 8 GB Memory
- 20 Gbps vs 14 Gbps GDDR6 Memory (+43%)
- 320 GB/s vs 224 GB/s Bandwidth (+43%)
- Same 128-bit Bus Interface
- 100W TDP? vs 130W TDP
- $199-$249 MSRP? vs $249 MSRP
Given the entry-level nature of this graphics card, we should expect all AIB partners of NVIDIA to have a custom variant available at launch. There will be no Founders Edition model, although a 5-phase VRM design is expected to be used on most reference PCB designs. Expect more on the RTX 5050 in the coming months. It will be interesting to see how the market reacts to another entry-level 8 GB product.
