The Nintendo Switch console has been doing great on the market since its release, and it seems like things are getting even better saleswise thanks to the latest titles released on the console.
Earlier today, it's been confirmed through data provided by The NPD Group that the Nintendo Switch is the fastest-selling console of the current generation in the US. From March 2017 through November 2018, the console sold more than 8.7 million units.
It's also been confirmed that Nintendo is the top-selling publisher for the current year, according to NPD data. Things are also surely going to get better this month, thanks to the release of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, which sold over 3 million units in 11 days of availability, according to Nintendo.
With the console selling so well worldwide, Nintendo of America's president recent statements on a possible hardware revision make much more sense. Reggie Fils-Aimé didn't deny that one may come in the future, but as of now, the company is focusing on the current version of the console.
Right now, as we go into our second holiday, my focus is making sure the current grey and neon Switch continue to have momentum in the market place. You saw systems, whether it’s our own or competitive home console systems, utilize that tactic a bit later in the life cycle. So right now, the current execution of Nintendo Switch with the Joy-Con and all of the capabilities, that’s our focus right now.
