MSI MPOWER Motherboard Returns In mATX Fashion, First AMD AM5 Design With Ryzen CPU Support

It's been a while since we have seen the MSI MPOWER series in action. The last design was the Z790 MPOWER, which we were the first to reveal in our exclusive, and now, we have learned about a new MPOWER motherboard that will be the first design centered around the AMD AM5 socket.

We have got a brief glimpse of the next-gen MSI MPOWER motherboard, which will be a strong and cost-effective design for overclockers. The previous Z790 MPOWER motherboard brought great OC capabilities in an affordable design, offering 8000 MT/s DDR5 support and the new design will be no exception.

Starting with the details, the MSI MPOWER "AMD" series motherboard will feature the AM5 socket and is likely to leverage the B850E chipset. Unlike the previous design, which went with a brown PCB and silver aesthetic, the newer board brings back the black and yellow look that was initially introduced in the first MPOWER and XPOWER designs. The new MPOWER motherboard also comes with a mATX form factor.

Other than that, we can see the motherboard featuring two DDR5 DIMM slots which will be able to support up to 128 GB capacities. There is an M.2 slot next to the DIMM slots and a large heatsink can be seen covering the PCH, and the additional M.2 slots which will be seated underneath it. The motherboard has a handful array of fan connectors and there seem to be just two SATA III ports.

It's awesome that we are finally getting an MPOWER motherboard from MSI for AM5 builders. The MPOWER series is great for overclocking and this motherboard should be just as good. We also managed to get information regarding the OC capabilities which are going to rival some of the high-end AM5 offerings as far as memory tuning is concerned, so stay tuned for more information on the next-gen MSI MPOWER AMD AM5 series motherboard.
