The Minisforum Mini PCs will provide up to 8 Zen 4 cores, 16 threads, up to 5.2 GHz boost clocks, and integrated Radeon 780M iGPU with RDNA 3 graphics. The iGPU is great for playing AAA games while being compact & super efficient. The Mini PC will support up to DDR5-5600 dual-channel memory.

Being efficient will also lead to cooler operation and on that front, the Minisforum solution will adopt an active-cooling solution. The active cooling solution is part of the new Cold Wave cooling system that includes two fans, one for the APU and the other for the memory and SSD.

The Venus UM790 & UM780 Mini PC will feature a sleek metallic design with exhaust vents on the sides & also the back to vent out hot air. I/O includes two USB4 (Type-C) ports, four USB 3.2 Gen2 (Type-A) ports, a 2.5GbE LAN port with Killer Wireless card, dual HDMI 2,1 outputs, and a 19V DC power connector. Both USB4 ports will support 100W power-delivery. With the Minisforum Mini PCs, you can drive up to four displays simultaneously and you also get AV1 support thanks to the new RDNA 3 GPU cores on the Phoenix APUs.

In terms of pricing, the Minisforum UM790 Pro Mini PC will hit retail at 3999 RMB or around $550 US (for the base model). The pricing is said to drop down to 2999 or close to $400 US by the mid of 2024. There's also a promotional activity for Chinese customers who can get up to 200 RMB off on pre-ordering the Mini PCs. Expect more information such as US/EU pricing in the coming weeks.
