Microsoft Adds 5 New Creative Teams Including Ninja Theory, Playground Games, Undead Labs, Compulsion Games

Among a sea of new games announcements, Microsoft revealed that it's doubling its first-party developer roster thanks to the addition of newly founded studio The Initiative as well as four veteran studios: Playground Games (as we had reported last week), Ninja Theory (the makers of Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice), Undead Labs (State of Decay 2) and Compulsion Games, the developers of We Happy Few.

Matt Booty, the newly appointed corporate vice president of Microsoft Studios, said:

The original games we create at Microsoft Studios are some of our biggest assets. We are thrilled to welcome five new studios into the Microsoft family. We believe these teams have the collective creative power and operational excellence to deliver the next industry game changers.
