Yesterday, KONAMI officially opened pre-orders for the retail editions of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater. The Tactical Edition will include the game plus some bonus digital items to be unveiled at a later time.

The $199.99 Collector's Edition, on the other hand, comes with the following goodies:

KONAMI also released a new developer diary featuring none other than English Snake voice actor David Hayter, who outlined some of the biggest enhancements of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater over the original title. For starters, the damage system has been updated so that battle scars inflicted on Snake will remain throughout the entire game. Cutscenes have been improved as well, although they will largely remain untouched from a narrative standpoint. When it comes to controls, the game will offer a legacy option that plays exactly like the original game and a New Style control for players accustomed to modern third-person action games.

In the second part of the video, Hayter interviewed Producer Noriaki Okamura, who said:

We left the gameplay, the story, and the voice cast of the original game as-is, but we had to bring the graphics and controls up to modern standards, all of which has changed over the years. All of that has been updated, but the core game – and the creative vision of the original staff – none of those parts of the game have changed.

The game still doesn't have a release date, but it might not be that far. Yesterday, GameStop briefly listed a November 17 date, although that's a Sunday and, therefore, unlikely to be correct.
