MediaTek has just announced the new Dimensity 6300 chipset, and it will focus on the company's more affordable offerings. The processor is joining the Dimensity 6000 lineup, and according to the company, you should get really decent performance upgrades with this chipset, but that is something we are going to have to wait and see going forward.
The MediaTek Dimensity 6300 will make its way to several budget devices starting this month with the Realme C65
According to MediaTek, the Dimensity 6300 offers up to 60% improvement in GPU performance, which is impressive, to say the least. The CPU has also received a boost and is now 10% faster than last year's Dimensity 6100+. It is safe to say that the company has made this chipset better in graphics, so the growing budget gamer market has something to look forward to.
The MediaTek Dimensity 6300 also brings an enhanced 5G modem that supports the 3GPP Release 16 standard. The modem offers up to 140MHz 2CC 5G Carrier Aggregation and MediaTek UltraSave 3.0+ tech, which should help save power and increase the overall battery life.
Considering its affordable nature, the MediaTek Dmiensity 6300 is fabricated using a 6nm process. It is an octa-core chip with two ARM Cortex-A76 big cores running at 2.4GHz and six ARM Cortex-A55 cores running at 2GHz. The chipset also supports LPDDR4X RAM running at up to 2,133MHz and UFS 2.2 flash storage. It also supports a 108-megapixel camera and FHD+ resolution at a 120Hz refresh rate. Additionally, the chipset is running the Mali-G57 MC2, dual-band Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 5.2.
Looking at the specs above, it is very evident that the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 is not exactly the fanciest in the bunch. Although this might be a letdown for some, it is worth noting that the company has intended this chipset for those who are looking for a more affordable device. That said, the first phone to feature this chipset will be the Realme C65 5G, which should be launching in various markets later this month. Considering the budget nature of this device, we should be getting a number of Android devices powered by this chipset that are priced really competitively, as well. We will keep you posted as more information about these devices surfaces.
