MacBook Neo has turned into an impulse purchase for buyers
When you think of buying a MacBook from Apple, $600 isn't usually the sum that you end up paying

The laptop industry is certainly on edge because of how Apple is probably going to eat their lunch now that the MacBook Neo is out. For $599, there aren’t many machines out there that can compete with the company’s most affordable portable Mac out there. Before its inception, there was a certain level of acceptance from customers of having to pay a premium to become the proud owner of a Mac. Now, there have been two occasions where customers who went in for a completely separate device repair and came out owning the MacBook Neo, indicating that a $600 total on an Apple product is regarded as an impulse purchase.

The affordability factor of the MacBook Neo makes it possible for customers to spend a decent amount of money without worrying about their budget

Previously, Apple’s most affordable portable Mac was the MacBook Air, and now, the company’s lineup has witnessed a paradigm shift with the MacBook Neo. Demand for this machine has been through the roof, with Apple being forced to raise production by 10 million units and ordering more A18 Pro chips from TSMC at inflated prices. The fact that the MacBook Neo is being treated like a regular computer and not a premium Apple product is highlighted by Reddit user ‘potterheadds.’

Seeking an iPhone battery replacement, the Apple customer was also in search of a laptop for school before his semester kicked off. Sadly, the MacBook Neo had been out of stock for a while in the Redditor’s proximity. Going into the Apple outlet with low expectations, he questioned the Apple employee if they had a unit in stock. As luck would have it, there were only two Touch ID versions available, and to remind you, only the 512GB SSD variants of the MacBook Neo support biometric verification.

Another Reddit user throwawaybanna19990 says that they had gone to an Apple store outlet for a display replacement, and ended up leaving with the MacBook Neo, likely because the panel would probably have been too expensive, making Apple’s affordable portable Mac the significantly better option. For the competition, things are going to get worse because the Cupertino giant is preparing a successor for next year that will be equipped with the A19 Pro, and if the company sticks with the same unbeatable $599 price tag, the Windows laptop market could potentially be in major trouble.
