Lenovo has announced its brand new concept ThinkBook VertiFlex laptop, which features a rotatable 14" display along with a Thunderbolt 5 dock.

You Can Switch To Portrait Mode With Ease On Lenovo's ThinkBook VertiFlex Laptop, Which Features A Rotatable 14" Display, But Is A Concept Design For Now

We have seen all sorts of wizardry with laptops, from curved screens to 2 and even 3 panels packed together, foldable/flexible screens, you name it. At IFA, Lenovo opted to do something different and showcased its new concept design, the ThinkBook VertiFlex. This laptop features a 14" display in an ultraslim 17.9mm body, which weighs just 1.39kg.

What's interesting about this laptop is that its display can be rotated into portrait mode, giving users the flexibility to switch between Portrait and Landscape without having to move or rotate the entire laptop. It also seems to serve various use cases such as split-screen multitasking, reviewing code, document viewing, etc. You can even tether your Smartphone using the Lenovo Smart Connect and get a massive display as a phone mirror.

This design is still in concept phase, so no actual specs or details were provided, but it looks like if the market is there, we will see such options in the future.

The other interesting device that Lenovo showcased is its ThinkPad Thunderbolt 5 Smart Dock 7500. As the name suggests, this is a Docking Station featuring Thunderbolt 5 support, offering up to 120 Gbps of insane bandwidth for connectivity. The dock has the ability to drive up to three 8K monitors at 60 Hz, plus one 4K monitor at 60 Hz. You can also go with two 4K 240Hz and two 4K 120Hz monitors. The TB5 ports offer PD 3.1 support with up to 180W power delivery.

In addition to this, the ThinkPad Thunderbolt 4 Smart Dock Gen 2 7500 is also updated with support for up to one 8K 60Hz or dual 4K 144Hz displays and PD 3.1 support of up to 100W. The Lenovo ThinkPad Thunderbolt 5 Smart Dock 7500 will be available in October for a starting price of €399, while the TB4.0 variant will be priced at €299.
