Kingdom Hearts III Has No More Disney Worlds To Be Revealed, Co-Director Confirms

Like previous entries in the series, Kingdom Hearts III is going to feature multiple Disney worlds where Sora, Donald, and Goofy will interact with characters taken from movies by the company. The total number of Disney worlds revealed so far is low, compared to past entries, and it seems like we won't be getting any surprise reveal.

Speaking with Newsweek, Kingdom Hearts III Co-Director Tai Yasue spoke about the Disney worlds included in the game, confirming that no surprise world will be revealed.

Final Fantasy VII 25th Anniversary to Be Celebrated During Next Week’s Livestream

There are a lot of good, logical reasons for picking new Disney properties, like appealing to a wider audience; but honestly, the main reason we picked new worlds such as Frozen and Tangled was because they excited us. In terms of gameplay, there’s a lot of unique and crazy things you can do with a snowman that keeps on talking after having his head removed from his body, or a princess with super long golden hair. We’re not planning on revealing any surprise Disney worlds, but these new properties gave us a chance to come up with a lot of new and fresh ideas, that there will certain be a lot of surprises with the gameplay.

Last month, Square Enix released the game's final trailer, which showcases many of the game's worlds and characters, as well as some dramatic story sequences that made fans even more excited.

Kingdom Hearts III launches on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on January 29th.
