The prerequisites for running Apple Intelligence on a device are the amount of RAM and the Neural Engine’s capability. These requirements would explain why Apple’s suite of generative AI features will only be available for the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max first, as both of them feature 8GB RAM and the A17 Pro. Previously, it was suggested that the iPhone SE 4 would also ship with the same amount of memory, making it an immediate recipient of Apple Intelligence, but leaked code in macOS 15.1 Sequoia Beta reveals that this information could be untrue.
New code leak hints that the iPhone SE 4 may ship with 6GB RAM instead of 8GB, losing out on Apple Intelligence
A series of strings were found in macOS 15.1 Sequoia Beta, with @aaplpro uploading a small snippet on X, showing a total of eight upcoming devices that will likely support Apple Intelligence. Each iPhone features a unique identifier, and seeing as how the iPhone SE 3 was recognized by iPhone14,6, the upcoming iPhone SE 4 will probably have the iPhone15,6 identifier. Unfortunately, these details are not present in the post link below, indicating that the low-cost model arriving in 2025 may lose out on generative AI features.
As for which models will support Apple Intelligence, the code reveals the identifiers iPhone17,1, iPhone17,2, iPhone17,3, and iPhone17,4, signaling that enhanced features will arrive for every single iPhone 16 model. The iPhone 17 family has also been mentioned in the leaked code and can be identified as iPhone18,1, iPhone18,2, iPhone18,3, and iPhone18,4. Apple has been reported to add 12GB RAM to the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max, which will not just allow users to multitask effortlessly but possibly open up more Apple Intelligence features.
Согласно данным, полученным из кода macOS 15.1 Sequoia beta, грядущий iPhone SE4 может не получить поддержку Apple Intelligence

Going by this evidence, it is possible that the iPhone SE 4 ships with 6GB RAM instead of 8GB RAM, and even though it might match the A18 chipset that is said to debut in the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus, having a capable SoC with an upgraded Neural Engine is insufficient in running cloud-based and on-device generative AI features.
