The iPhone has continued to be one of the most used devices in the United States. Now, a new survey has been conducted which denotes that Apple's iPhone is the most popular handset among teenagers of the United States. It has been found that a record 83 percent of teenagers in the United States use an iPhone. Let's dive in to see some more details on the matter.

Apple's iPhone Continues To Grow In Popularity in the United States

The news comes from the investment bank Piper Jaffray's semiannual "Taking Stock With Teens" survey. The survey was conducted with around 8,000 high school students and the male to female ratio was 54 percent to 46 percent, respectively. Furthermore, the average age of teenagers was recorded to be 16.3 years.

Apart from this, 86 percent of teenagers in the United States expect their next upgrade to be an iPhone. The scale of the iPhone's popularity has seen growth over the past few years. In the spring of 2016, the metric was 75 percent.

There are a lot of reasons why the iPhone's popularity is growing over the years. Mainly, Apple's ecosystem has a lot to do with it as it locks users to certain services like Apple Music, iMessages, iCloud and more. Apart from this, Apple's in-house complimentary gadgets like the Apple Watch and AirPods work seamlessly, luring in more users.

The survey also feigns interest in the percentage of users who own a smartwatch in the United States. It was found that 27 percent of users own a smartwatch while 22 percent are planning to get the Apple Watch in the next six months.
