The iPhone 16e carved itself a place amongst the top-selling smartphones in Europe by securing ninth place, which only means that the upgrades expected to arrive with the iPhone 17e next year, Apple should anticipate the same reception level. With the device’s official unveiling happening sometime in the first half of 2026, there are still several months remaining for the launch, but a tipster has already shared the primary specifications of the handset, revealing that just like its predecessor, Apple will not incorporate a high refresh rate display, but will give preference to the remaining internals, which we have discussed at length below.
A19 chipset rumored to be a part of the iPhone 17e’s specifications, with a tipster noting that this model will be the most affordable in Apple’s lineup
Sadly, the iPhone 17e will stick with a 6.1-inch 60Hz OLED screen and a Dynamic Island, according to Weibo’s Digital Chat Station, but it will seemingly sport an A19 chipset. However, before you get excited, there is a possibility that Apple resorts to chip-binning for this silicon, meaning that it could feature fewer GPU cores like the A18 powering the iPhone 16e. Next up, we have the cameras, and Apple does not appear to be in the mood to add a dual-sensor configuration to the iPhone 17e because it is rumored to sport a single rear 48MP shooter.
Additionally, the device is said to be equipped with a 12MP front camera, with internals also supporting Face ID. The pricing details were not mentioned, and we should not be surprised because these details supposedly came from Apple’s supply chain and not from the company. However, the tipster states that the iPhone 17e will be the most affordable model, but even if the technology does not budge above that $599 bracket like it did with the iPhone 16e, it will still be somewhat of an expensive undertaking given the fact that it will potentially ship with a 60Hz screen and a single rear camera.

Unfortunately, customers who had plans to skip the iPhone 17e in favor of the base iPhone 18, we have to share some terrible news with you. According to a previous report, Apple will phase out the base model while introducing the foldable iPhone, with five versions arriving in 2026, starting with the iPhone 17e first.
