Apple will launch the iPhone 16 series in September of 2024 if it follows the typical schedule and does not deviate much. In the past, Apple generally did not delay iPhone releases greatly, so we can assume it will follow the same pattern this year. While we are not expecting drastic design changes for the iPhone 16, the latest leaks suggest it will be offered in two additional colors compared to the iPhone 15 lineup.
Apple speculated to offer an array of colors with the iPhone 16 series
Earlier, a rumor initiated in China suggested that Apple would drop the Blue Titanium for its upcoming iPhone 16 Pro models and replace it with a new Rose Titanium color. The latest report mirrors past speculations, as Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo recently penned down his expectations in a post on X about two additional colors substituting existing ones and reaffirming earlier rumors.
According to Kuo's post, the color options for the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max are Black, White, Silver, Natural (Gray), and Rose titanium. This automatically means that the highly popular iPhone 15 Pro's Blue Titanium color will no longer be offered for the 16 series, and the rose color option will take its place.
The color options for the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus are:
- Black
- Green
- Pink
- Blue
- Yellow
According to the speculations, iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus would be available in:
- Black
- Green
- Pink
- Blue
- White
In some previous rumors, yellow was said to be replaced, and purple would be added. But it now seems that Apple would apparently stick to the same colors as the iPhone 15 series, except for yellow being replaced by white for the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus.
Apart from two additional colors to be offered for the iPhone 16 lineup, rumors about Apple renaming some of its colors have also grabbed attention. This was previously done for the iPhone 13, whereas the White color option for the iPhone 12 was renamed to Starlight. While we can expect a switch for the iPhone 16 color naming scheme, we cannot be certain.
Even though we are not anticipating some massive exterior upgrades for the iPhone 16 series launching in the fall, reports have stated that there will be a new Capture button, as revealed in initial renders. It seems that we are not going to see an in-display fingerprint sensor with the iPhone 16. Prior reports have also suggested a vertical camera layout for the non-Pro iPhone 16 versions.
