In addition to a periscope zoom lens, another area where Apple will raise the bar with the iPhone 15 Pro Max is with the display. According to the latest rumor, the upcoming flagship will feature the smallest bezels ever, for any smartphone, at 0.06 inches.

Xiaomi 13 currently features the thinnest bezels, at 0.07 inches, but the iPhone 15 Pro Max is rumored to top that in the coming months

The latest information provided by Ice Universe states the Xiaomi 13 has the slimmest bezels on a smartphone, at least for now, measuring only 1.81mm. The iPhone 15 Pro Max could take it one step further, with a bezel measuring just 1.55mm. Part of how this may be possible is likely thanks to a previous rumor stating that the top-tier flagship will feature the M13 display manufactured by Samsung.

Not only could this ‘M13’ display resonate a maximum brightness threshold, but it is also said to be power efficient, leading to a better battery on the iPhone 15 Pro Max. Another attribute this panel could possess is being a little more flexible than its predecessors, allowing Apple to completely curved the screen to achieve the thinnest bezels on a smartphone. The company employed the same technique when it introduced the iPhone X back in 2017, which is why its top and bottom bezels were equally thin.

Both the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max are said to sport bezels the size of those present on the Apple Watch. It is strange that Ice Universe did not mention the smaller iPhone 15 Pro, suggesting it may feature larger bezels than its bigger brother. In fact, an unnamed source informed a different tipster who goes by the name ShrimpApplePro, that the iPhone 15 Pro Max is ‘very beautiful,’ meaning that potential buyers should be in for a real treat in a few months.

However, achieving the thinnest bezels on a smartphone in 2023, when nearly all competitors are attempting to accomplish the same feat, is a herculean task, so one can only imagine the kind of engineering it took to achieve a bezel size of 0.06 inches. Unfortunately, these efforts from Apple will not come cheap and could be the reason why the company increases the price for its customers this year.
