Looks like Intel’s Ivy Bridge Core i3 processors are launching sooner than anticipated. Apparently, Intel’s branch based in Taiwan has dismissed reports of the new chips being launched in August, rather by the end of this month.
Intel’s new 22 nm Ivy Bridge Core i3 processors will be official launched on 24th of June this month. Both shipping and availability of the low end dual core chips will start from the aforementioned date which is a good move by the Silicon Valley leader.
The 3rd generation Ivy Bridge processors that are being launched are the Core i3-3220 for $149, the Core i3-3225 for $172 and the Core i3-3240 for $178 respectively. The iGPU will consist of HD4000 or HD2500 on-die graphics that varies from model to model.
