HWiNFO plans to update its platform to support next-gen Intel GPU architectures including Battlemage, Celestial & Melville Sound.

Apart from the utility the software comes with, HWiNFO is often the place to look at when looking for support for unreleased hardware. This time, the platform has focused on Intel, a significant inclusion being the support for the Battlemage lineup, which is expected to launch in the second half of this year; we have already seen glimpses of the upcoming GPUs as well, so it's only a matter of time before HWiNFO receives support for Battlemage as well.

With Battlemage, HWiNFO mentions Melville Sound and Celestial GPUs as well, and while we have heard much about the latter one, Melville Sound is the one we are more interested in. For those unaware, Melville Sound is Intel's data center GPU lineup which follows up with the first-gen Arctic Sound family, and it gained popularity when Intel announced the cancelation of Rialto Bridge and Lancaster Sound just to accelerate developments on Melville Sound. Now, Intel has ended the run of its Ponte Vecchio chips as it moves forward with its upcoming Gaudi accelerators and the Falcon Shores GPU.

Falcon Shore was supposed to come after Rialto Bridge and Lancaster Sound, but it looks like Intel is skipping both to jump directly to the most powerful iteration.

The inclusion of Intel's next-gen GPU architectures shows that the development work on these chips is ongoing, and HWiNFO, maintaining tradition, becomes one of the first platforms to plan support for Battlemage, Celestial & Melville Sound, which is yet again something interesting to witness. Intel's Battlemage GPU architecture will first debut it Lunar Lake CPUs later this year followed by a discrete launch expected after that while Celestial GPUs are expected to debut with the next-gen Panther Lake CPUs launching in 2H 2025.
