Install XXUAMD2 Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean on Galaxy S4 i9505 LTE

Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE root has been achieved running on the Android 4.2.2 XXUAMD2 firmware. It has been released several weeks before the smartphone will hit the market. The root has been achieved by an Elite Recognized XDA developer Chainfire. His tool will make you able to achieve the root and hence find out custom ROMs for Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE to get rid of all the features coming with stock firmware.

Prerequisites to root XXUAMD2 Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean on Galaxy S4 i9505 LTE:

Important: This Android 4.2.2 XXUAMD2 is only for SGS4 i9505, do not try it on the i9500.

How to install XXUAMD2 Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean on Galaxy S4 i9505 LTE:

Required files: download the XXUAMD2 root file from here. Unzip the contents save the files in a folder on your PC. Download the Odin 3.07 from here. Unzip and place in a folder on your computer.

  1. Switch off your Samsung Galaxy S4 and boot the Galaxy S4 LTE into the Download Mode by pressing and holding the Volume Down + Home + Power buttons simultaneously. Release the buttons when the screen flickers and follow the instructions shown on the screen
  2. Next, launch the Odin exe on your pc.
  3. Click on PDA button in ODIN and browse for the CF-Auto-Root-jflte-jfltexx-gti9505.tar.md5 file from the firmware folder. Load it into Odin. Do not change any other default settings of Odin and ensure that Re-Partition option is disabled.
  4. Now connect your  Samsung Galaxy S4 to your computer using the USB cable. When connected, ODIN will display a confirmation message saying Added!!.
  5. Press the Start button to initiate the root process. When the rooting process is done, your SGS4 LTE  i9505 will automatically restart.
  6. Disconnect it from the computer and wait for the smartphone to show you the Android 4.2.2 XXUAMD2 welcome screen.

Note: When the SGS4 restarts, it should display a red Android on its display during the boot. If it doesn't, then boot your device in the recovery mode and do the following:
