You can stop Siri from announcing every single message or caller while you are using your AirPods on iPhone or iPad. Here's how it works.

Annoyed by Siri Announcing Every Single Text Message or Call on AirPods? Here's How You Can Disable the Feature

Apple really pushed the envelope with the introduction of AirPods, bringing a truly wireless experience to the masses. The company took things further with the introduction of Hey Siri support with second-generation AirPods. It even added the ability to announce messages and callers using Siri while you are using your AirPods. In short, you don't have to pull out your iPhone or iPad every single time someone calls or texts you - Siri will simply take care of things.

While it may be a useful feature, but it can get super annoying, especially if you have a lot of messages or calls coming in while you are listening to music or just working on something important. So, how do you turn this feature off? It's actually quite easy and we will show you how you can end this madness once and for all especially if you turned on the announce feature at the time of setting up your AirPods.

Step 1. Launch the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.

Step 2. Find the option called Siri & Search and tap on it to open.

Step 3. Open the Announce Calls option and then disable the feature by tapping on Never.

Step 4. Go back a page and then open the Announce Notifications option and disable that too.

There is a similar feature on the Apple Watch as well, which you can enable or disable, depending on the situation and how bothered you are by voice assistants overall. But if you're out on a run or doing something in which your hands aren't free, then such a feature is a true lifesaver, saving you from the need to pause your current task just to see what came through.

Keep one thing in mind, this feature is completely optional. When you are setting up your AirPods for the first time, iOS and iPadOS will ask you if you want Siri to announce your messages or notifications. If you choose 'no,' then you don't have to go through the trouble outlined above. But, in case you did enable it, you now know what to do in order to disable the whole thing.
