Did you know: you can set your Apple Watch to announce incoming text messages or iMessage? Here's how you can set it up.
Have Apple Watch Audibly Announce and Read Out Your Text Messages and iMessage - Reply Back Instantly Using Siri as well
For a lot of people, the Apple Watch is an extremely handy tool and something which negates the need to pull out the iPhone every single time just to do a simple task such as replying to a text message.
You can even make things that much easier by having your Apple Watch announce the incoming text or iMessages as long as you are connected to your Apple Watch using AirPods or a set of compatible Beats headphones. Once any text comes in, Siri will read it out and you can instantly reply to it once Siri says 'would you like to reply?'. This means you don't have to say 'Hey Siri' even. It's a completely hands-free experience.
First and foremost, you have to make sure that you are connected to your Apple Watch using at least second-generation AirPods. Any Beats headphones or earphones with an H1 chip is also compatible with this feature.
In order to connect your AirPods or Beats headphones to your Apple Watch, simply slide up from the bottom of the screen to bring up Control Center. Find the AirPlay-like icon and tap on it. Now select the pair of AirPods or Beats headphones you wish to connect to.
Now let's set up the Apple Watch to announce text messages.
Step 1. Press the Digital Crown and then tap on Settings from the list of available apps.
Step 2. Scroll down and find Siri. Tap on it to open.
Step 3. Scroll down and find the option Announce Notifications. Tap on it to open.
Step 4. Enable the Announce Notifications toggle switch and also make sure you scroll down and enable the Messages option.
That's it. Whenever a text message or iMessage comes in, you will be audibly notified about it, text read out to you and Siri will also ask you whether or not you wish to reply.
