Sand Land – How to Unlock the Workshop in Spino Town for More Convenient Crafting

Sand Land

Sand Land, the new open-world action-adventure based on one of Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama’s lesser-known works is out now, and its surprisingly complex for an anime adaptation. One of things you’re going to want to do early on to make your life easier is upgrade your home base of Spino Town. One of first and most important updates for Spino is the Workshop, which will allow you to forge special materials right in town, which makes crafting new vehicles and parts less of a hassle. You’ll have to complete a series of sidequests in order to get the Workshop, but don’t worry, we’ll walk you through it…

In order to unlock the Workshop in Spino Town, you’ll have to complete the “Tinkerer Siblings” sidequest, but that quest won’t unlock until you’ve completed several other quests. The first pre-requisites are to actually find Spino Town and complete the “A Jump-bot?! Gimme!” main campaign quest. You then have to complete the following four quick sidequests.

Task From Mayor Tor

This one’s very easy. Just talk to Mayor Tor in Spino. Acquire some Machine Gun Scrap for him, either by destroying enemy vehicles, or buying it from the Junker Market in Lisab. Then Bring it back to Tor.

Desert Soldier

Head slightly south and west of Spino and talk to the soldier Mos inside the small building.

You’ll then be tasked with defeating some Junkers outside the building. Beat them, and the mission is finished. Mos will go to live in Spino.

Lost Peddler

Just south of Spino you’ll find a peddler name Wusu on top of a small rocky outcrop being menaced by a small group of raptors. Defeat the raptors and then talk to Wusu. Then head back to Spino and talk to Ades in the store. Doing this completes the mission. The store inventory will now expand.

Suspicious Cave

Slightly south and west of Spino, you’ll come across the hunter Zeph near a rocky outcropping.

He’ll ask you to check out a cave just on the other side of the rocks he’s near. Blow open its entrance with your tank. Head into the cave and grab the “Geji Dragon Strategy Guide”. Return this to Zeph to complete the quest. Zeph will go to live in Spino.

Okay! With those four sidequests finished, you can now move onto…

Tinkerer Siblings

Talk to Mayor Tor in Spino then head north of Spino to Talbo. Once there talk to Stan near the workshop. He’ll send you on a quest for some “Puraptor Scales.”

Follow the sidequest markers until you come to a raptor nest hidden with a cave near the Aro Village Ruins.

Fight the raptors inside. The oddly-colored white raptors are your main target. They’ll both drop a couple Puraptor Scales. Takes these back to Stan in Talbo.

Give the Puraptor Scales to Stan and his sister Ves. You then get the opportunity to choose which of the siblings you want to invite back to Spino (I went with Ves, but you do you).

And there you have it! The Workshop in Spino should now be open, and you won’t have to travel to other towns to get special materials made. The steps you’ve taken to open up the Workshop are also required to open a lot of the other businesses in Spino, so it’s more than worth it. You can further upgrade the workshop by completing the "Top Time Triumph," "AWOL Tinkerer," and "A Strange Request" sidequests.

Sand Land is available now on PC, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, and PS5. You can check out Wccftech’s other Sand Land guides here.
