Run Network Speed Test Without Downloading Any App on iPhone, Android
Here's how you can run a network speed test on your iPhone or Android phone without downloading any app at all.
Don't Waste Space on Your iPhone or Android, Directly Run a Network Speed Test from Your Web Browser Instead
We have ultra-fast internet all around us these days. And to make sure that the internet is running at its full potential, we tend to run a lot of network speed tests from time to time as well. This involves downloading a dedicated app from the App Store or Google Play, and then run a speed test from there.
But the problem is, not everyone wants to run network speed tests over and over again, hence downloading a dedicated app means wasting space on your iPhone or Android device. Thankfully, you don't have to download a dedicated app in order to run a speed test on your phone or tablet. You can do it right from your web browser instead.
There are two fantastic ways to do it, and both these speed test services are well known as well - Speedtest.net and Fast. The great thing about the former is how efficient it is, since there are a ton of Speedtest servers around the world and it automatically selects the best (and fastest) one before going ahead. Fast, on the other hand, is hosted by Netflix, and will choose the nearest server based on your location.
Using your mobile device, just tap on the links below to run a network speed test instantly. You can bookmark or favorite the links once you are there:
The great thing about these sites is how well they are optimized for browsers like Safari and Chrome. You are never met with extension problems or anything - they just work, the way they should.
Keep one thing in mind though; these websites will only test how fast you will be able to download a dummy file from the nearest server using multiple streams, this does not equate to the overall quality of your internet connection. Sometimes, you might end up seeing blistering fast speeds, but thanks to a poorly optimized network, websites and services might end up being extremely slow. Speed tests will run at their full potential since it's a direct path from you to the speed test server.
