With these strategies, you will have no trouble getting a Gold Medal in LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight Driving Trials

Alongside a highly diverse set of story missions, LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight features multiple open-world activities, including the Driving Trials devised by Lucius Fox. These trials require you to clear a racing course within a strict time limit to earn a Gold Medal and the maximum possible Stud payout.

Achieving Gold isn't always easy, but with a few straightforward driving strategies, you will have no trouble doing so even on your first try.

Mastering Boost

Vehicles in the game feature an acceleration mechanic called Boost bound to the Square / X / Y button. While it initially appears to be a short, single-use speed burst, you can hold the button down to maintain a permanent boost.

As such, mastering when to hold Boost and when to let go is extremely important for Driving Trials. As each checkpoint gate is clearly visible from a distance, you can hold down boost if the next gate is straight ahead.

Managing the Turn Indicators

The real trick to maintaining your speed in Driving Trials lies in how you approach corners. As you race through the course, keep an eye out for the direction indicators, which appear as three arrows.

Right before you reach these turns, let go of the boost button completely and steer directly into the curve. Letting off the boost gives the vehicle enough traction to glide through the turn smoothly without bumping into the environment or missing the turn entirely. With this strategy, you don't have to worry about using your brakes, which saves you quite a bit of time to get the coveted Gold Medal.
