A few months after the release of the base game, Assassin's Creed Shadows: Claws of Awaji expands the latest entry in the series with a new region to explore, new gameplay mechanics and a new story that wraps up one of the threads left hanging in the main campaign. Here's how to access the new content and what you need to do before you can travel to Awaji Island.

What are the Prerequisites to Access the Claws of Awaji expansion?

Being an endgame expansion, you will need to complete a lot of late base game quests before you can travel to Awaji. The expansion will be available for you only after completing the Shinbakufu Target Board, completing Naoe, Yasuke, and Junjior's personal quests, and clearing the Out of the Shadows Quests.

Once you have completed the quests above, all you need to do to start the new story is speak with Hattori Hanzo's contact Konatsu at the Hideout in Settsu. After this is done, a new quest will be unlocked, at the end of which you will travel to Awaji.

How to Travel From and To Awaji

Although Awaji appears on the main map, it is a separate region with its own map. To return to the base game's locations, all you need to do is to access the new arrow icon, which will transport you to the Hideout if you're on Awaji, or in Sumoto right outside the town's Kakurega if you are somewhere on the mainland.
