Apple is giving a one year free Apple TV+ subscription to all users as a promotional offer. Anyone who bought an iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac or Apple TV after September 20, 2019, can sign up for a free 1 year trial. The trial will be linked to that user’s Apple ID, and will also be available through Family Sharing for up to 5 other users. Here is how you can subscribe to the free Apple TV+ trial.
Free Apple TV+ Subscription With New Apple Products
Before you start, here are some important notes from Apple with regards to the 1 year free Apple TV+ trial:
- The offer is available for a limited time, so Apple could decide to stop offering it for new devices anytime.
- If you have any other trial or offer for Apple TV+, you cannot use this free subscription.
- The subscription can be used with a Family Sharing account, with up to 5 other users.
- The offer must be claimed within 3 months from when you start using your new Apple hardware, or from 1st November, if you bought your hardware after September 10.
- If you unsubscribe to the free trial, your free subscription will end right away. This is unusual as other free trials in the App Store continue until the designated time period, even if you unsubscribe. So if you use the free trial, wait until the year is almost over, before you decide to cancel it or continue using the service for $4.99 per month.
When you setup your new device, open the TV app. You will be shown a pop-up that your new device includes 1 year of Apple TV+. Tap or click on 1 year free to start your subscription.
If you closed the pop-up, scroll down in the app and find the Apple TV+ channel. Open it and you will see the ‘Enjoy 1 Year Free’ button:
Tap it and you will see a confirmation dialogue box to start the free trial
Once you start the trial, you can then watch Apple’s original shows and movies on any iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Apple TV or Mac linked to your Apple ID. You can also login to compatible Smart TVs and devices from Samsung, Roku, and Fire TV, and watch original Apple shows and movies.
Apple TV+ has a limited quantity of high quality original content and features cast members like Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, Jason Momoa and many more. Morning Show, See, Dickinson and For All Mankind are some of the first shows that are gaining popularity with the audience. All Apple original are streamed at 4K HDR with Dolby Atmos sound and can be either streamed or downloaded offline.
