With the release of the Pixel 9 series, users and tech enthusiasts were expecting another major announcement that Android 15 would finally be rolled out. Well, that did not happen, much to our surprise, but Google has provided the release timeline, and it does not look much different from the launch patterns of Android 13 and Android 14. While the software is currently in the beta phase, with the company having launched the latest Beta 4 on July 18th, we expect the final release to be just around the corner.
Android 15's release schedule follows the same pattern as the previous generation software launches, but could come early
Google has been releasing early versions of its Android 15 operating system and has currently rolled out Beta 4 for testing before fully releasing the final version to the public. The beta is compatible with several Pixel devices and can be downloaded manually on the Pixel 6, 7, Pixel 8, Pixel Tablet, and Pixel Fold. Once the final version is released, it can also be installed on the Pixel 9 lineup.
The beta program can also be accessed on other OEM models, including Nothing, OPPO, Xiaomi, and HONOR. If you still do not have a compatible device and want to try the features available in the beta program, you can use the Android Emulator in the Android Studio, which mimics the functionality of an Android device. The beta program can be accessed using the 64-bit system images that Google uses.

The timeline of the Android 15 final release aligns with the pattern of previous releases. While the developer previews were launched earlier in the year, the operating system is currently in the beta phase, with the latest update being Beta 4. The latest Beta 4 was released in July and was the second step in establishing stability for the operating system. The update indicated that the core functionality has been finalized, and the app developers are making the final tweaks to ensure compatibility when users upgrade.
Since Beta 4 already marks the platform stability, the full launch of Android 15 could happen anytime soon. We believe the update could even arrive as early as next month. While there is no official confirmation from Google on the month of the final roll-out, if we look at the previous generation releases, Android 14 was released on the same day as the Pixel 8 series.
Since the Pixel 9 series was released early on August 13 this year, it came out with Android 14, and Android 15 will naturally come out a little later. Users should be expecting the Android 15 final stable release to come out any time this fall.
