Today, ArenaNet unveiled the first three elite specializations that will be available in the upcoming expansion Guild Wars 2: Visions of Eternity. These are the Troubadour, the Galeshot, and the Luminary, respectively for the Mesmer, Ranger, and Guardian base class (profession, as they are called in this game).

Troubadours use their musical talents to replace the normal Mesmer visual clone with waves of sonic magic. They employ a wide range of instruments to create effects in battle, such as damaging enemies or supporting allies.

Trained in tengu marksmanship, Galeshots use the power of the wind to create special arrows, which they unleash in a flurry. They also control the flow of the battlefield with gusty whirlwinds and tornadoes.

Lastly, the Luminary is a stalwart protector wreathed in flame. Clad in their Radiant Shroud, they can wield four new weapons of light and flame, which provide passive bonuses and alternate abilities based on use.

You can check out a preview of each of these elite specializations below.

As a reminder, just like the previous expansions for the MMORPG, Guild Wars 2: Visions of Eternity will provide beta access to all of the elite specializations well before the full release date. The expansion will go live on October 28, and the beta access (available to all Guild Wars 2 players) for the elite specs is scheduled for August 20-27. ArenaNet is likely to provide similar details for the remaining elite specializations in the coming weeks.

While the new elite specs are going to be a highlight of Visions of Eternity, the expansion is also adding four zones (two at launch and another two with subsequent free updates), a new story set in the faraway island of Castora, enhanced functionality for the Skimmer mount, two new raid encounters, a new Fractal dungeon, a new public Convergence, and various new armors, weapons, relics, and legendary items.
