Granblue Fantasy: Relink is the sixth game released in 2024 to officially announce it has sold at least a million units, following Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, Persona 3 Reload, Enshrouded, Helldivers 2, and of course Palworld, which has sold more than all of those games combined. Chances are The Last of Us Part II Remastered and Tekken 8 are also close to the million threshold and might have surpassed it already, despite no announcement being made by the respective developers or publishers. Three of those games, including Granblue Fantasy: Relink, belong to the Japanese RPG genre, showing strong interest from gamers.

Granblue Fantasy: Relink took a long time to materialize. The game was supposed to be primarily developed by PlatinumGames, but Cygames eventually chose to develop it all by itself. The final result is thankfully solid, as certified in Wccftech's review written by Ule Lopez:

Granblue Fantasy Relink offers plenty of options for players to engage with in terms of content. It's an action RPG that is easy to pick up and difficult to master when it comes to its character roster choices and mechanics. However, when you get to the deeper aspects of it, it doesn't offer much of note compared to its peers. Still, the way the game delivers its narrative as well as how impressive and tough its boss fights are is definitely worth bringing up. Overall, this is a solid game that could have been a bit more intricate.

Those who end up being fond of the universe can also look to the fighting game Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising, developed by genre specialist Arc System Works for Cygames.
