Companies are increasingly focused on bringing AI initiatives that would make users' lives easier by simplifying processes for them. Google has been actively focused on coming up with updates that make daily tasks simple to carry out. One of its most impressive features was the Audio Overviews it introduced with NotebookLM, which basically brought an AI-powered summarized version of lengthy and dense content, and acts as a mini-podcast for users. While the feature was already pretty handy, Google expanded it to a wider audience last month by integrating it into Gemini, which made it more accessible. Now, the tech giant is extending huge support to the Audio Overviews with the goal of making the tool even more widely usable.

Google is offering support for over 50 languages for its Audio Overview to make the virtual podcast understand you no matter what you speak

While Audio Overviews first debuted with the NotebookLM, Google has now brought it to the Gemini app, making the feature more readily available. However, the tech giant seems to be pushing harder for the AI feature to be not only more intuitive and human but also more accessible so that users engage with it in a seamless manner.

Google is now rolling out language support that goes up to 50 languages, with the aim of meeting the needs of most users around the world by making the virtual podcast speak in basically almost every language. While the expectations would be that adding the supported languages would complicate tasks, that is not the case, as NotebookLM is super fluid with switching between varied languages and handles this new support addition quite well.

Google has added a dedicated output language setting so that users have no difficulty choosing how they want the Audio Overview to present the AI-generated summaries. This is especially handy if the project you are using the feature for is for a multilingual audience. Instead of going through the document every time you need to cater to the different groups, you can toggle the output language setting that is now available separately.

Google has made the feature accessible to a wider audience with the addition of language support and the upgrade of an output language option. If you are interested in trying your hands on the feature, it does not involve a complicated process. You can open up NotebookLM, add some relevant documents, and let the feature do its job and present you with a podcast-style summary. What makes it even more useful is the ability to guide conversations by asking questions to let the tool know what to focus on.

Google, by introducing a smart upgrade, is now helping users quite literally have a multilingual narrator that can help them break down things in the language they speak and the way they want.
