This is one of the most expensive GeForce RTX 5090s we have ever gotten, and of course, it's from ASUS.
ASUS Lists its ROG Astral RTX 5090 Edition 20 At LDLC for $7,435, Reminding That ROG Matrix Edition isn't the Most Expensive RTX 5090
ASUS never fails to surprise us, particularly when it comes to pricing its premium components. The RTX 5090 Edition 20 has been priced ridiculously, as if the GPU wasn't expensive enough at $4000. We know that the GPU has been listed for nearly $4000 or more on major retailers, which comes as a result of the stupid RAMpocalypse that has been pushing the GPU prices upwards.
However, it gives the GPU makers a chance to justify ridiculous prices. That said, ASUS never feels responsible for justifying or explaining the sky-high prices of its premium products, which is why it comes with ridiculously-priced RTX 5090s now and then. If you thought the ROG Matrix Platinum RTX 5090 was one of the most expensive RTX 5090s, then you might not have taken a look at the ROG Astral RTX 5090 Edition 20.
The GPU, which launched alongside many other components and peripherals a few weeks ago, has hit the shelves at LDLC. The GPU is a special edition card, which launched on ASUS's ROG 20th Anniversary celebration. While the family bucket that launched in China for $16,578 gave us a rough idea about the RTX 5090 D V2 Edition 20 pricing, we never got the chance to estimate the regular ROG Astral RTX 5090 Edition 20 price.
When the European retailer, LDLC, launched the GPU in its store, we finally knew that the GPU would be one of the most expensive cards on the planet. Of course, it's not as expensive as the RTX 5090 Dhahab, but at 6,499 Euros or nearly US$7,435, it's the most expensive RTX 5090 we have seen from the vendors.
The ROG Matrix RTX 5090 was launched at a generous $4,000, but the Edition 20 broke all the records. We don't know if $7,435 is the official price tag of the card, but it is likely that it will cost more than the Matrix edition in NA stores. The Matrix currently sits at $6,000-$8,000, which is ridiculous, and these cards should have no right to sell at these prices, considering the MSI RTX 5090 Lightning Z is available for cheaper.
