Google is now letting every Joe to create street views using nothing but a camera or an Android phone. Although this may later raise some privacy concerns, for now everyone seems happy. Google is telling us that we can even promote our businesses by creating virtual tours!
Google is promoting its ad by attracting not-for-profits on how Street Views can help them save their favorite environmental scenes. It could be a good feature to map every nook and cranny; want to share some serenely beautiful place around you? Or simply bored in your cafe? This is Google's way of engaging you in something other than social media and also churning up big chunks of data for the data obsessed company.
"To get started, just create photo spheres using your Android phone or a DSLR and then share them onViews. Next, select the photo spheres from your profile and use our new tool to connect them together (as seen in the example above). Once your photo spheres are connected and published, people can navigate between them on Google Maps, just like they can in Street View.
