The Chinese mini PC maker has debuted one more powerful mini PC, featuring a powerful Ryzen AI 400 series processor.
GMKtec Debuts EVO-X1 Pro Mini PC, Equipped With Up To 64 GB Memory and 1 TB Configuration at $1471
Popular Chinese hardware and mini PC maker, GMKtec, is back again with another powerful mini PC. This time, the company introduced one of the latest Gorgon Point chips, offering powerful computing and local AI capabilities for enthusiasts. A few days ago, the company released EVO-X3, which was based on the flagship Strix Halo chip, i.e., Ryzen AI Max+ 395.
Unlike the Ryzen AI Max+ 395 that brings a 16-core/32-thread configuration, the EVO-X1 Pro settles with a 12-core/24-thread Zen 5-based Ryzen AI 9 HX 470 processor, which succeeds the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370. The processor boasts a powerful combination of CPU, iGPU, and NPU, allowing users to carry out intensive tasks, play games, and perform AI workloads such as LLM locally on the machine.

The EVO-X1 Pro is one of the handful of machines that also utilize the OCuLink interfaces, allowing powerful external graphics cards to be connected to the device. This is particularly convenient for gamers who would like to level up their gaming experience by switching from Radeon 890M to a more powerful graphics card. However, those who want to retain its lightweight and portable design without adding anything extra can still play modern games on medium to high settings.
Inside its small chassis lies 64 GB LPDDR5 soldered memory that is clocked at 6400 MT/s. It's sufficient for professional workloads and speeds up AI operations significantly. It's paired with a 1 TB storage drive to store enough data, and given that most manufacturers have been finding it difficult to secure enough storage drives, 1 TB is going to be sufficient for now.
The company has introduced the EVO-X1 Pro Mini PC at a price tag of 9,999 Yuan, which translates to around US$1471.
