Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 Charging Speeds Could Disappoint Some Users

The Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 will go official in July, and so far, we have heard many interesting details about the upcoming flagship phones. The good news is that Samsung will be adding some nice tech to these devices, including titanium frames, alleged camera updates, and better overall structural integrity. However, it appears that the charging speeds on both devices might not be getting an upgrade, which might be a letdown for many people.

Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 to be limited to just 25W charging

Based on information spotted by MySmartPrice, both the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 have gone through 3C certification, and the listing shows that the phones will have the model numbers SM-F9560 and SM-7410, respectively. Both devices will be supported by the Samsung EP-TA800 charger, and if you are unfamiliar, this charger maxes out at 25W.

25W charging speed is not really an issue for me, to be honest. I am using the OnePlus 11, which charges at 100W, and I often think that it is an overkill. However, I believe that for phones that will cost as much as the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6, you need at least 45W charging speed. It is not something that a 2024 flagship should be supporting, especially when you are looking at the price.

At the same time, Samsung is known for not going for faster charging speeds. The fastest charging speed that Samsung has to offer is 45W, and that is as high as the phones go. I would have loved it if Samsung had added the same to the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 because it would have made a lot of sense.

Whatever the case might be, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 are going to go official on July 10th, later this year. There is a rumor that there will be fan edition variants of both devices, and their release will likely be at the end of this year instead of July, but we are not sure about them as there is not enough information available.
