Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5 Could End Up Costing More Than Their Predecessors, At Least in France

The Galaxy Z Fold 5 and the Galaxy Z Flip 5 are both launching at the end of this month on July 26th, and so far, there is so much about both the phones that we have seen in full, and the leaks aren't stopping. There has been speculation in the past that Samsung will charge more this time, but no solid proof has come forward, and now we have a tip that the new foldable phones might end up costing more, at least in France.

Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5 could end up costing €100 more for the base variant, with the same price hike being seen in other regions

The leak is coming from a French publication, and they have reported that Samsung's upcoming foldable phones cost more, at least for the base model, based on the prices they have shared. This could be limited to just one region or could be implemented across the entire world.

  • Galaxy Z Flip 5 (256GB) – €1,199
  • Galaxy Z Flip 5 (512GB) – €1,339
  • Galaxy Z Fold 5 (256GB) – €1,899
  • Galaxy Z Fold 5 (512GB) – €2,039
  • Galaxy Z Fold 5 (1TB) – €2,279

Now, you can see that the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and the Galaxy Z Flip 5 are both looking at an increase of at least €100. This might not be much for some, but this could signal that smartphones are actually getting more expensive, and there is nothing that can be done to change that. Also, let's not forget that the Pixel 8 is also rumored to have a price increase, so we might get to see that, as well. But only time will tell, as Google's next flagship is still months away.

It would be too early to speculate how the pricing on Samsung's upcoming foldable phones is going to be, but considering how these phones are going official later this month, it is more than safe to say that in the coming days, we will be hearing more about how these phones are going to be priced at in various international markets.
