Samsung is expected to introduce a new set of display materials to the Galaxy S26 Ultra, with the latest report stating that the latter will raise the bar in not just sporting a better panel than the M13 variant, but also supporting Color Filter on Encapsulation (CoE). This kind of combination could make the Korean giant’s top-end smartphone for 2026 one of the best devices to own.

Only the Galaxy S26 Ultra could be treated to Samsung’s M14 OLED panels, with the flagship beating the iPhone 17 in becoming the first device to sport two new technologies

Before the iPhone 17 launch was official, it was reported that Apple would employ the newer M14 OLED on all four models, with the best perk of incorporating this technology being the efficiency improvements of the blue-emitting layer. Compared to the older M13 panels, M14 OLED’s brightness levels can be increased by 30 percent, while also boosting its lifespan. According to ETNews, Samsung will maintain pace with Apple by bringing this display upgrade to the Galaxy S26 Ultra.

Combining the M14 OLED with Samsung’s CoE, which boosts light transmittance and saves power, and the Galaxy S26 Ultra could offer a ‘one of a kind’ screen to customers. If you think these two additions were not impressive, what about the fact that the flagship is reported to exclusively ship with Samsung’s ‘Flex Magic Pixel’ technology, which acts as a privacy-protection film without requiring an additional accessory to achieve the same result?

Unfortunately, the Galaxy S26 Ultra will be the only version from the lineup launching early next year to be treated to the newer M14 OLED panels, because the Galaxy S26 Pro and the Galaxy S26 Edge are expected to ship with the older M13. Samsung’s top-end model will ship with several exclusive upgrades, but it could be the first time in three years that the company brings its Exynos chipset to this specific version.

The Exynos 2600 will reportedly undergo full-scale production by the end of this month, and while we wait for confirmation if this SoC finds its way in the Galaxy S26 Ultra, you can check out our in-depth rumor roundup about Samsung’s first 2nm GAA silicon.
