I don't mean it lightly when I say that there are a lot of expectations laying on the Galaxy S24 Ultra as the phone has to prove itself worthy for Samsung users to upgrade to the latest and greatest. Today, we bring some information on the display brightness of the phone, and on paper, it might be a disappointment.

Galaxy S24 Ultra's display to achieve 2,600 nits peak brightness

For the longest time, Samsung has been winning awards for their smartphone display, and for all the right reasons. I still miss the display on my Galaxy S22 Ultra, and I know just how good the display on the Galaxy S23 Ultra is. The latest rumor talks about how the Galaxy S24 Ultra might not have the brightest display in the market, which might be a letdown and straight-up unacceptable for many people.

As you can see in the tweet above, the Galaxy S24 Ultra could feature a display that will go as high as 2,600 nits in peak brightness. Now, this is certainly better than the iPhone 15 Pro Max, but it is not on par with other Android phones Samsung will be competing with next year.

For starters, the OnePlus 12's display goes as high as 4,500 nits. Compared to that, the display brightness on the Galaxy S24 Ultra simply seems like a sorry excuse. Now, I do know that this is not going to reflect how the real-life performance is going to look, but Samsung might be at a disadvantage here.

Honestly, being a lifelong Samsung user, I was expecting more from the Galaxy S24 Ultra's display, but at the same time, I am aware of the fact that not all displays are made the same way, and while the 4,500 nits peak brightness is a number that looks really impressive, there is still a possibility that Samsung's display is better in almost every other aspect.

The Galaxy S24 Ultra will be unveiled on January 17, next month. The phone will debut alongside its younger siblings, and I am really looking forward to how Samsung will deliver all the AI goodness and other features that the company has been working on lately.
