Galaxy S24 Ultra Can Capture RAW Files in 12, 24, and 50 Megapixel

Samsung has introduced a lot of things coming to the new Galaxy S24 Ultra, as well as the rest of the devices. However, the latest and greatest Ultra variant gets some special treatment in several departments, and the one thing that I love about the new phone is its ability to capture RAW images in resolutions other than just the default 12-megapixel.

Expert RAW lets the Galaxy S24 Ultra output RAW photos that are up to 50-megapixels in resolution

The Galaxy S24 Ultra will be able to capture RAW files in not just 12-megapixel but also 24-megapixel and 50-megapixel. This is something that will be possible thanks to Expert RAW, which I think is the best thing Samsung has done to its camera apps in a long, long time. Mainly because of how streamlined it is.

Now, this might not mean much to the average user who is not looking to take a lot of pictures, but as a photographer, I always prefer having the option for higher resolution shots at hand because it can do a lot for the pictures, especially in scenarios where you might have to crop in to get the perspective you are looking for. Again, this is something that is now possible on the Galaxy S24 Ultra, and I hope that Samsung sticks to this feature.

Sure, there are some concerns with the file sizes being too much, but as you can see in the tweet above, it is not that big for a RAW file. You would be surprised just how much you can manage to get once the resolution is doubled or tripled, for that matter.

With that said, the Galaxy S24 series is now available for pre-order, with devices shipping out to users on 31st January, later this month. The new phones are packed to the brim with advanced features, and if you are looking for something that delivers on all fronts, then this definitely is something that you should be looking into because you will not be disappointed. Just be certain that the variant you are looking at is exactly what you want because there could be some feature discrepancy, but other than that, I think this is a pretty perfect phone to get your hands on.
