GALAX GeForce GTX 1080 Ti HOF Has an Interesting LCD Panel Mounted on Top of Cooler and Is Aimed at Professional Overclockers
The craze of RGB lighting can be prominently seen in pretty much every single enthusiast-grade component. What was initially present on computer gaming peripherals has now gravitated to PC hardware and it looks like that is not the only interesting thing that AIB partners are looking to incorporate on high-end GPUs. The GALAX GeForce GTX 1080 Ti HOF edition brings a unique approach to the table, where users are able to monitor a wide range of readings from the GPU itself courtesy of an LCD panel mounted on top of the cooler.
LCD Panel Is Definitely a Plus, and the New GALAX GeForce GTX 1080 Ti HOF Edition Is Aimed at Next-Level Enthusiasts Thanks to Its Massive Triple-Slot Cooler
This is only the second GPU to be released that comes with its own LCD, with the first one being the Colorful iGame GTX 1080 Ti Vulcan X OC. To start off, professional overclockers will be able to monitor the following readings on the latest GPU via that LCD panel.
- BIOS version
- Memory capacity
- GPU model
- Driver version
- Temperature, fan speed, and GPU voltage
- GPU clock
- Memory Clock
- You can also add your own custom text
However, if you are going to embark on this purchase, then you will need adequate space in your chassis since it will use up a total of three PCIe slots. In addition, to start monitoring the readings from that LCD, it is important to note that your chassis needs to have a transparent top panel. Since the LCD is mounted at the top, even if you have a side panel that’s transparent, it will make viewing those details quite difficult. The other route to go about is to purchase a chassis that features tempered glass, but that will make it susceptible to cracks so you’ll have to be extra careful with it.
The insides of the GPU has not been detailed, but if the GTX 1080 Ti HOF requires three 8-pin PCIe power connectors (via VideoCardz), then there are going to be an adequate number of power phases for both the graphics processor and memory chips for overclocking purposes. The triple-fan cooling solution is complemented by its massive heatsink, increasing the size, bulk, and weight of the GPU.
This is definitely an innovative approach from the manufacturer and we will provide you all the necessary details regarding pricing and availability when the card is released.
